Inspection and Repair.
(1) Engine LDS-465-2.
FRAME 1
C h e c k that timing gear cover (1) is not cracked, dented or bent. If timing

g e a r cover is damaged, get a new one.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-
v e n t i s u s e d . U s e only in well-ventilated places. Fail-
u r e to do this may result in injury to personnel and
d a m a g e to equipment.
C h e c k that gasket surfaces at bottom and at rear of cover (1) have no nicks,

s c r a t c h e s o r- b u r r s . Fix minor damage with a fine mill file or crocus cloth
d i p p e d in dry cleaning solvent. I f more repair is needed, get a new cover.
C h e c k that timing pointer pin (2) is not loose, cracked or damaged in any way.

I f timing pointer pin is damaged, get a new timing gear cover.
C h e c k that stud (3) does not have stripped threads and is not damaged in any
4.
w a y . Fix minor thread damage with a thread chaser. If more repair is needed,
take out stud and put in a new one.
