I n s p e c t i o n and Repair.
FRAME 1
1.
Check that breather valve housing (1), breather valve spring housing (2),
breather valve end cover (3), and breather tube adapter (4) have no cracks.
I f any of these parts is cracked, throw away crankcase breather valve
a s s e m b l y and get a new one.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame. K e e p a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-
v e n t i s u s e d . U s e only in well-ventilated places.
Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel and
d a m a g e to equipment.
2.
Check that breather valve housing (1), breather valve spring housing (2),
breather valve end cover (3), and breather tube adapter (4) have no nicks,
b u r r s or raised metal. F i x minor nicks, burrs, and raised metal with a fine
m i l l file or a crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent.
3.
C h e c k that four nuts (5) and all screws (6) have no thread damage. Throw
a w a y damaged nuts and screws and get new ones.
4.
C h e c k all threaded holes in breather valve housing (1). Fix minor thread
damage with a tap.
