C h e c k that rocker arm shaft (1) is not cracked or broken. If rocker arm
s h a f t is cracked or broken, throw it and rocker arm supports (2) away and
g e t new ones.
CAUTION
It is easy to damage t h e equipment if you do not know
w h a t you are doing.  Do not try to do this task unless
y o u are experienced a t it, or you have an experienced
person with you.
NOTE
Bearing surfaces of rocker arm shaft (1) are surfaces
n e x t to oil holes in rocker arm shaft.

C h e c k that rocker arm shaft (1) does not have worn bearing surfaces and that
r o c k e r arm shaft is not scored.  I f rocker arm shaft is scored or has worn bear-
i n g surfaces, throw it and rocker arm supports (2) away and get new ones.
C h e c k that locating dowel pin (3) is not cracked, chipped or loose. If it is

d a m a g e d or loose, throw away rocker arm shaft (1) and locker arm supports
( 2 ) and get new ones.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame.  K e e p a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-
v e n t i s u s e d .  U s e only in well-ventilated places. Fail-
u r e to do this may result in injury to personnel and
d a m a g e to equipment.

C h e c k that rocker arm shaft (1) has no small nicks, scratches or burrs. Fix
s m a l l nicks, scratches or burrs with a crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning
solvent.
