Readings must be within limits given in table 4-57.
The letter L shows a loose fit.  I f readings are not
within given limits, throw away part and get a new
one.
R e a r end of rocker arm shaft (1) has a locating dowel
pin (2).
R o c k e r arm bearing surfaces of rocker arm shaft (1) are
s u r f a c e areas near the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth,
a n d eighth oil holes in rocker arm shaft, counting from
f r o n t t o r e a r .  B e a r i n g surfaces will look shiny on used
r o c k e r arm shafts.

M e a s u r e inside diameter of six rocker arm bearings (3). Note each measurement
and which rocker arm it was taken on.

M e a s u r e outside diameter of six rocker a r m bearing surfaces of rocker arm
s h a f t ( 1 ) .  Note each measurement and w h i c h rocker arm bearing surface it
w a s taken on.
M e a s u r e fit of each rocker arm bearing ( 3 ) on its bearing surface of rocker
