NOTE
R e a d i n g s must be within limits given in table 4-55. If
r e a d i n g s are not within given limits, throw away spring
and get a new one.
D o this frame for all six inner valve springs (1).
1.
C h e c k that inner valve spring (1) is not worn, cracked or damaged. Throw
a w a y damaged inner valve springs and get new ones.
M e a s u r e free length of inner valve spring (1).
2.
U s i n g spring tester, m e a s u r e load needed to squeeze inner valve spring
3.
( 1 ) to a length of 1.33 inches.
U s i n g spring tester, measure l o a d needed to squeeze inner valve spring (1)
4.
t o a length of 1.78 inches.
U s i n g spring tester, measure s o l i d height of inner valve spring (1).
