Cleaning.
FRAME 1
WARNING
D r y cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame.  Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when
s o l v e n t is used.  Use only in well-ventilated places.
F a i l u r e to do this may result in injury to personnel
a n d damage to equipment.
CAUTION
Be careful not to nick or scratch stems or seating sur-
f a c e o f s i x v a l v e s ( 1 ) .  B e careful not to nick or scratch
s i x cylinder head valve seats (2) or cylinder head gasket
face (3).

C l e a n cylinder head (4), six valves (1) , six inner valve springs (5), six
outer valve springs (6), and six valve rotors (7) with solvent. Clean
s l u d g e , gum, and carbon deposits using a scraper or a stiff wire brush.
D r y with clean cloth.
C l e a n carbon from six fuel injector nozzle seats (8) using stiff brush and

c a r b o n removing compound.
WARNING
Eye shields must be worn when using compressed air.
E y e injury can occur if eye shields are not used.
C l e a n all oil passages in cylinder head (4) with wire brush. Flush oil

p a s s a g e s with dry-cleaning solvent and blow dry with compressed air.
