NOTE
T w o types of oil pressure regulator (1) have been
u s e d on these engines.  This task is the same
f o r both except as noted.
1.
C h e c k that housing (1) is not cracked. If housing is cracked, throw it
away and get a new one.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame.  Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when solvent
i s used.  Use only in well-ventilated places.  Failure to
d o this may result in injury to personnel and damage
t o equipment.
2.
C h e c k that mounting surface of housing (1) has no nicks, scratches or burrs.
F i x nicks, scratches, and burrs with a fine mill file or crocus cloth dipped in
dry cleaning solvent.
3.
C h e c k that oil passages (2) are clean and free from dirt. Clean out blocked
or dirty oil passages. Refer to para 4-3.
4.
Check that two plunger bores (3) are not scored or worn. If plunger bores
a r e scored or worn, throw away housing and get a new one.
5.
C h e c k that threaded holes in housing (1) are not damaged. Fix minor thread
damage with a tap.
