1.
C h e c k that oil gage rod support (1) is not bent or cracked and does not have
d a m a g e d t h r e a d s . F i x minor thread damage with a thread chaser. If more
r e p a i r is needed, get a new oil gage rod support.
2.
C h e c k that oil gage rod (2) is not bent or cracked and does not have damaged
t h r e a d s . If oil gage rod is bent, cracked or has damaged threads, get a new
one.
3.
C h e c k that support bracket (3) is not cracked or bent. If it is, get a new one.
4.
Check that screw (4), nut (5), and washer (6) are not damaged. If any part
i s damaged, get a new one.
5.
P u t preformed packing (7) on oil gage rod (2) and slide it all the way up.
