C h e c k that all threaded parts are not stripped or damaged in any other way.

F i x minor thread damage with thread chaser or tap. If threads are badly

d a m a g e d , get a new part.

C h e c k that gasket surfaces (1 and 2) have no nicks, scratches or burrs. Re-

p a i r small nicks, scratches or burrs with a fine mill file or crocus cloth.

C h e c k that support (3) is not cracked or damaged in any other way. If

s u p p o r t is damaged, get a new support.

4. Put in pipe plug (4).
