CAUTION
B e careful not to nick or scratch journals on crank-
s h a f t ( 1 ) . I f crankshaft journals are damaged, engine
w i l l not run properly.
1.
Take out crankshaft gear woodruff key (2).
WARNING
D r y cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near
an open flame. K e e p a fire extinguisher nearby when
s o l v e n t is used. U s e only in well-ventilated places.
F a i l u r e to do this may result in injury to personnel
a n d damage to equipment.
2.
C l e a n crankshaft (1) with dry cleaning solvent. Clean off sludge and gum
u s i n g stiff brush. D r y with clean cloth.
WARNING
Eye shields must be worn when using compressed air.
E y e injury can occur if eye shields are not used.
U s i n g fuel passage cleaning brush, clean oil passages in crankshaft (1).
3.
F l u s h passages with dry cleaning solvent and blow dry with compressed air.
4.
P u t crankshaft gear woodruff key (2) back in crankshaft (1) so it will not
be lost.
