Gasket and Preformed Packing Set (Item 43.1,

a. Removal.

(1) Position drain pan under thermostat housing (1).

(2) Remove two screws (2) and washers (3) from outlet

housing (4).

(3) Remove outlet housing (4) from thermostat housing (1).

(4) Remove thermostat (5) from thermostat housing (1).

(5) Remove thermostat gasket (6) from thermostat housing

(1). Discard thermostat gasket.

(6) Remove thermostat gasket debris from outlet housing (4)

and thermostat housing (1).
