NOTE

Readings must be within limits given in table 17-11. If read-

ings are not within given limits, throw away part and get a

new one.

Check that output shaft shifter cover (1) is not cracked or warped, and that threaded

hole is not damaged.

Check that shaft (2) and fork (3) are not cracked or broken. Check that fork fits

s n u g l y on shaft.

Measure spring (4).
