C h e c k that shaft (1) in hook (2) is not worn. If shaft is damaged, throw

away hook and get a new one in its place.

C h e c k that hook (2), lock (3), and latch (4) are not damaged. File off raised

m e t a l or scores.

C h e c k that chain (5) has no b r o k e n o r d a m a g e d l i n k s . I f c h a i n i s d a m a g e d ,

throw it away and get a new o n e in its place.

I f spring is damaged,

C h e c k that spring (6) is not d a m a g e d in any way.

throw it away and get a new o n e in its place.
