WARNING
U s e extreme care when handling h e a t e d ring gear to
prevent being injured.
CAUTION
D o not heat ring gear over 400F; too much heat may
d e s t r o y the original heat treatment.
NOTE
Heat indicating "crayons, " which are placed on the
r i n g gear, will melt when the right temperature is
r e a c h e d are available.  U s e of one of these "crayons"
w i l l insure against overheating the ring gear.
P u t two "crayons" on ring gear (1). Heat gear evenly to 400F.

W e a r i n g protective gloves, place ring gear (1) on flywheel (2) with bevel
o n teeth nearest flywheel (2).
NOTE
Follow-on Maintenance Actions Required:
Replace flywheel.
R e f e r to para 2-10.

Replace clutch.

Replace transmission. Refer to para 7-3.
