5.
Initial TAMMS (The Army Maintenance Management System) Compliance Requirements.
a. Upon receipt of this message, make the following entry on the DA Form 2408-13-1. Enter a Red
Horizontal Dash //--// status symbol with the following statement: "Comply with requirements of
CH-47-03-ASAM-01 no later than 25 April 2003."

(use lower case leters only) or may be obtained from the units servicing
LAR. Alternate forms may be approved by the AMCOM SOF Com-
pliance Officer.
NOTE
The TAMMS Compliance Report only confirms the unit has made the
initial logbook entry for assigned aircraft. TAMMS Compliance Reports
will include aircraft serial numbers (in numerical order), date of entry on
DA Form 2408-13-1, unit address, local POC name and phone number.
b. TAMMS Compliance Report -- Submit TAMMS Compliance Report via priority email to
"safeadm@redstone.army.mil <mailto:safeadm@redstone.army.mil>" no later than 1 APR 03 in accordance
with AR 95-1. If email is not availale, the report may be faxed to: SOF Compliance Officer at DSN 897-2111
or (256) 313-2111.

Task/Inspection Compliance Requirements.
a. Aircraft -- Submit Task/Inspection Compliance Report for this message to Logistic point of contact
no later than 25 April 2003.
b. Retail Stock (Installation level and below) -- N/A.
c.
Wholesale stock (Including Depot stock, Depot Maintenance and Single Stock Fund) -- N/A.

Special Provisions to Message Requirements (Aircraft). -- N/A.

Technical Procedures/Instructions
a. Conduct a records check (Aircraft Time change DA Form 2408-16) to determine the serial number
of each engine drive shaft, P/N 145D3504-2.
b. The retirement life for the following serial numbered drive shafts shall remain at the current published
life of 2000 hours. The serial numbers are as follows:
A--103, A--107, A--193, A--211, A--230, A--243, A--262, A--276, A--280, A--287, A--309, A--327, a--330, A--352,
A--385, A--453, A--474, A--501, A--504, A--506, A--517, A--526, A--536, A--538, A--571, A--596, A--612, A--617,
A--636, A--638, A--651, A--652, A--675, A--691, A--696, A--704, A--709, A--731, A--741, A--771, A--778, A--792,
A--799, A--908, A--921, A--960, A--1200, A--2343, A--11767BK.
c. For engine drive shafts which have serial numbers not noted in paragraph 8a above, the retirement
life shall be increased to 6000 hours. Update DA Form 2408-16 Block 6j to indicate the new 6000 retirement
life and recalculate the Replacement Due hours in Block 6k.
d. ULLS--A units will use this message as authority to update the Component Master File to reflect the
Engine Drive Shaft new MAOT. Direct all ULLS--A questions to point of contact in paragraph 14e.
e. ULLS--A units shall modify the current configuration code line entry for the drive shafts to reflect the
new 6000 hour MAOT.
f. ULLS--A units that have drive shafts with serial numbers listed in paragraph 8b will make a new line
entry using a new configuration code of 53 with all the current information to track the 2000 hour MAOT shafts.
g. Clear the initial entry from paragraph 5a and note compliance on Engine Drive Shaft DA Form
2408-5-1.
