CAUTION
If oil pressure drops below 40 psi, stop engine
a n d make the necessary repairs before finishing
the tests.
(1)
S t a r t engine and check all gage readings. Refer to para 6-6b.
( 2 )  W r i t e down all gage readings taken during each of the following tests on
e n g i n e test r e p o r t used at facility you are working.
( a ) Run engine for 1/2 hour at idle without a load.
( b ) Run engine for 1/2 hour at 2000 rpm at 15 horsepower.
( c ) Run engine for 1/2 hour at 2200 rpm at 64 horsepower.
( d ) Run engine for 1/2 hour at 2500 rpm at 64 horsepower.
( e ) Run engine for 1/2 hour at 2800 rpm at 64 horsepower.
( f ) Run engine for 15 minutes at 500 rpm. Take off load a little at a
t i m e until engine is unloaded. Stop engine.
e. Inspection After Basic Run-In.
NOTE
B a r e engine has air cleaner, but does not have
pump, generator, and air compressor drive belts,
m u f f l e r , cooling fan or any other accessories not
e s s e n t i a l for operation of the engine connected.
(1) Long run-in schedule:
NOTE
L o n g run-in schedule is for repaired engines in
w h i c h new bearings, piston rings or cylinder
s l e e v e s have been put in.
