NOTE
T h i s task is shown for engines LD-465-1, LD-465-1C,
a n d L D T - 4 6 5 - 1 C .  T h i s task is the same for engines
LDS-465-1 and LDS-465-1A, and LDS-465-2.
L o o k in window (1) and check that timing mark (2) lines up with pointer (3).

I f timing mark lines up with pointer, pump timing is correct. Go to frame 15.
2.
U s i n g socket wrench (4) as shown, hold nut at center of fuel pump drive
g e a r ( 5 ) .  U s i n g socket wrench (6) as shown, loosen but do not take out
three screws (7).

L o o k in window (1). Turn wrench (4) until mark (2) and pointer (3) line
u p and hold wrench firmly in this position.
NOTE
Elongated holes in fuel pump drive gear (5) will let pump
turn about 20 while drive gear is mounted on pump and
t h r e e s c r e w s ( 7 ) a r e l o o s e .  I f timing mark (2) cannot be
l i n e d up with pointer (3), take off drive gear. Refer to
P a r t 1, para 3-10.  T h e n set pump timing. Refer to
f r a m e 6 and frames 11 through 14. When pump timing
has been set, put back drive gear. Refer to frames
11 and 12.
U s i n g torque wrench (6), tighten three screws (7) to 23 to 27 pound-feet

w h i l e keeping drive gear (5) from turning by holding wrench (4) firmly.
C h e c k pump timing again. Refer to frames 13 and 14.
