CAUTION

M a i n bearing lower halves and main bearing caps were

m a r k e d during removal. They must be put back in the same

p o s i t i o n and facing the same way. Failure to do this will

r e s u l t in damage or wear to engine.

C o a t four main bearing caps (1) and four main bearing lower halves (2) with

oil.

P u t four main bearing lower halves (2) into four main bearing caps (1). Put

f o u r main bearing caps into cylinder block (3). Put in eight cap screws with

washers (4).

Tighten eight capscrews (4) to 80 to 90 pound-feet. Tighten eight capscrews

t o 120 to 125 pound-feet.
