Check that oil seals (1) are flush with top of bearing cap (2) to with in 0.0625
inch.
2.
P u t in two capscrews with washers (3).
T i g h t e n capscrews to 80 to 90
pound-feet.
T i g h t e n capscrews (3) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.

4.
U s i n g protrusion gage (4), check alinement of main bearing cap (2). Aline-
ment must be within 0.002 inch.
