Cleaning.
WARNING
D r y cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-
v e n t is used. Use only in well-ventilated places. Fail-
u r e to do this may result in injury to personnel and
d a m a g e to equipment.
( 1 ) Clean filter bowl and filter head in dry cleaning solvent.
WARNING
Eye shields must be worn when using compressed air.
E y e injury can occur if eye shields are not used.
( 2 ) Clean filter element assembly by blowing compressed air through center
o f element.
( 3 ) Throw away element assembly if it is very dirty or when spring and
g a s k e t cannot be used.
d. Inspection and Repair.
C h e c k that filter bowl (1) is not dented, cracked or crossthreaded. Get a

n e w bowl if it is cracked, dented or crossthreaded.
C h e c k that filter head (2) is not cracked, and that inlet threads (3) and out-

l e t threads (4) are not burred or crossthreaded. Use a tap to repair inlet
threads (3) and outlet threads (4).
G e t a complete new filter if head (2) is cracked or if threads (3 and 4) are

badly damaged.
