WARNING
T h e voltage output of ignition unit (1) is strong enough
to cause a dangerous electrical shock. Do not touch any
b a r e wires or connections during operation. Refer to
decal on unit.

C h e c k that ignition unit (1) has no cracks or dents. If ignition unit is
c r a c k e d or dented, get a new one.
T o check ignition unit (1), join spark plug (2) to output cable assembly (3).

G r o u n d pin (4) on spark plug (2) ignition unit (1).
S p a r k plug (2) should spark between pins (4 and 5) when 10 to 12-volt

d i r e c t current is applied to ignition unit (1). If spark plug does not
s p a r k , check spark plug and output cable assembly (3).
R e p a i r minor damage to ignition unit (1) by filing burrs on threads.

T h r o w away ignition unit (1) if spark plug does not spark, and get a new
