C h e c k that two pipe plugs (1), square head pipe plug (2), and two valve

p l u g s (3) are not cracked and do not have damaged threads. Check that

s q u a r e head of square head pipe plug is not rounded. If pipe plugs,

square head pipe plug, or valve plugs are damaged, throw them away and

g e t new ones.

C h e c k that 16 mounting screws (4) and long mounting bolt (5) do not have

s t r i p p e d or damaged threads or rounded heads. Check that 16 mounting

w a s h e r s (6) and mounting washer (7) are not cracked or broken. Throw

a w a y damaged screws, bolt, and washers and get new ones.

C h e c k that two springs (8) are not cracked or squeezed shut. If two springs

a r e c r a c k e d o r s q u e e z e d s h u t , throw them away and get new ones.

WARNING

Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. D O not use near

an open flame. K e e p a fire extinguisher nearby when

s o l v e n t is used. U s e only in well-ventilated places.

Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel and

d a m a g e to equipment.

C h e c k that two plungers (9) have no scratches or burrs. Fix small burrs and

s c r a t c h e s with crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent. Polish two

p l u n g e r s with crocus cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent even if they are not

scratched.

C h e c k that two plungers (9) fit and move freely in bores in oil cooler and

f i l t e r h o u s i n g ( 1 0 ) . I f plungers bind in bores, throw away plungers and get

n e w o n e s . I f new plungers still bind in bores, get a new oil cooler and filter

housing.
