NOTE
M a i n bearing caps (1) with bearing halves (2) and main
b e a r i n g saddles (3) are called by numbers one to seven
c o u n t i n g from front to rear of crankcase (4).
N u m b e r four main bearing cap (1) is called main thrust
b e a r i n g cap. It is wider than other main bering caps.
N u m b e r four main bearing saddle (3) is called main thrust
bearing saddle. It is wider than other main bearing
saddles.
P u t main thrust bearing cap (1) with bearing half (2) on main thrust bearing

s a d d l e (3). Mounting holes in main thrust bearing cap must line up with
m o u n t i n g holes in main thrust bearing saddle.
C o a t two bolts (5) and washers (6) lightly with engine lubricating oil. Put

i n and hand tighten two bolts and washers.
U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 80 to 90 pound-feet.
3.
U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.
