NOTE
M a i n bearing caps (1) with bearing halves (2) and main
b e a r i n g saddles (3) are called by numbers one to seven
c o u n t i n g from front to rear of crankcase (4).
N u m b e r three, number five, and number six main bearing
caps (1) look the same. They are marked with their
number.
P u t number three main bearing cap (1) with bearing half (2) on number three

m a i n bearing saddle (3). Mounting holes in number three main bearing cap
m u s t line up with screw holes in number three main bearing saddle.
Coat two bolts (5) and washers (6) lightly with engine lubricating oil. Put in

a n d hand tighten two bolts and washers.
U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 80 to 90 pound-feet.

U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.

D o this frame again for number five main bearing cap with bearing half

a n d number six main bearing cap with bearing half.
