WARNING
D r y cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
o p e n flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-
v e n t is used. U s e only in well-ventilated places. Fail-
ure to do this may result in injury to personnel and
d a m a g e to equipment.
1.
C h e c k that crankshaft damper and pulley (1) has no nicks, scratches or
b u r r s . F i x small nicks, scratches, and burrs with a fine mill file or crocus
c l o t h dipped in dry cleaning solvent.

T a k e out keyway seal (2) and check that keyway in crankshaft damper and
p u l l e y (1) has no burrs or cracks. Fix small burrs with a fine mill file.
I f keyway is cracked or badly damaged, throw away crankshaft damper
and pulley and get a new one.
P u t back keyway seal (2) so it is not lost.

C h e c k that threads in two puller screw holes (3) are not damaged. Fix minor
thread damage with a tap. I f threads are badly damaged, throw away crank-
s h a f t damper and pulley (1) and get a new one.
C h e c k that lockplate (4) is not cracked or broken. If it is cracked or broken,

throw it away and get a new one.
6.
C h e c k that three screws (5) and three washers (6) are not damaged. If they
a r e damaged, throw them away and get new ones.
IF WORKING ON ENGINE LDS-465-2, GO TO FRAME 11.
IF WORKING ON ANY ENGINE EXCEPT LDS-465-2, GO TO FRAME 12
