CAUTION
U s e clean tools, have clean hands, and work on clean
surface when taking apart fuel control valve. Even
the smallest piece of dirt will cause the valve not to
work properly.
P u l l off electrical leads (1 and 2) from thermostat (3).

U n s c r e w and take out three screws (4). Take off clamp (5) and
thermostat (3).
Take off cover plate (6), gasket (7), orifice plate (8), and gasket (9). Throw

away g a s k e t s ( 7 a n d 9 ) .
CAUTION
D o not force anything through the orifice plate (8)
o p e n i n g s . T h e slightest change in the calibrated
o p e n i n g s in the plate may cause serious overheating
problems.
C l e a n orifice plate (8) and cover plate (6) with compressed air. Inspect

o r i f i c e plate (8) with a magnifier. C h e c k for cracks or burrs. Get new
o r i f i c e plate if cracks or burrs are found.
