o p e n flame. K e e p a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-

v e n t i s u s e d . U s e only in well-ventilated places.

Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel and

d a m a g e to equipment.

C l e a n all parts with solvent.

C h e c k that tailgate (1) has no bends or cracked welds. Repair by straighten-

i n g o r w e l d i n g . R e f e r to TM 9-237. I f more repair is needed, get a new part.

C h e c k that four hinge pins (2) are not bent. Repair by straightening. If

m o r e repair is needed, get a new hinge pin.

Check that two steps (3) have no bends or dents. Repair by straightening.

C h e c k that plates (4) have no cracks or bends.

R e p a i r by straightening both

sides.
