Repair.
1.
T a k e off small scratches or nicks from transfer case housing (1), front cover
( 2 ) , a n d front output shaft cover (3) as needed.
2.
Weld r a c k s and small holes in housing and covers.
Refer to TM 9-237,
3.
Drill o u t any broken bolts or studs in tapped holes.
Drill o u t s t r i p p e d o r o u t - o f - r o u n d h o l e s .
4.
R e t a p to next larger size. Use bolt
o r stud of new size in assembly.
5.
I f bearing cup (4) is damaged, take it out of bore (5). Refer to para 7-7.
G e t a new bearing cup and mating bearing cone.
Put new bearing cup (6) into bore (5). Refer to para 7-7.
