FRAME 1

C l e a n both gears in dry cleaning solvent.

C h e c k gear teeth for burrs and pits. Polish small burrs and pits with

c r o c u s cloth. G e t new gear, if damage will not rub out.

C h e c k keyways in gears for raised metal or burrs. Polish off with a fine mill

file.

M e a s u r e inside diameter of gear (1) and outside diameter of camshaft (2).

C h e c k with table 2-1.

M e a s u r e inside diameter of gear (3) and outside diameter of crankshaft (4).

C h e c k with table 2-1.

Check that plate (5) is not loose, cracked, or scored. Tighten if loose.

G e t new plate, if scored or cracked.
