5 - 137 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM - PTO SOLENOID
This task covers:

INITIAL SETUP:
Tools Required
Tool Kit, General Mechanic's, Automotive (GMTK)
Materials Required
Lock washers (Qty 2)
Thread locking compound, loctite 243
Equipment Conditions
Vehicle switched off and battery shutoff switch in the off position
Right hand engine side panels removed for access, see PLS TM 9-2320-364
series
WARNING
SLIP AND FALL INJURY. PERSONNEL MAY SLIP ON SPILLED HYDRAULIC
FLUID. SUITABLE CONTAINERS AND FLUID ABSORBENT MATERIALS ARE TO
BE USED TO CONTAIN SPILLAGE.
a.
Remove
(1)
Remove the military connector and cable (7) attached to the PTO solenoid (1).
(2)
Note the position of and remove the three oil pipes (6, 8 and 9) connected to the PTO
solenoid (1).
(3)
Remove the two screws (2) securing the bracket (5) to the chassis.
(4)
Remove the PTO solenoid (1).
(5)
If required remove the two screws (3) and lock washers (4) securing the PTO solenoid (1)
to the bracket (5). Discard the lock washers (4).

Install
(1)
If removed earlier, fit the bracket (5) to the PTO solenoid (1) with the two new lock washers
(4) and screws (3).
(2)
Apply thread locking compound to the two screws (2).
(3)
Fit the bracket (5) and solenoid (1) to the chassis with the two screws (2).
(4)
Fit the hydraulic pipes (6, 8 and 9) to the positions noted during removal.
(5)
Fit the military connector and cable (7) to the PTO solenoid (1).
