5 - 113 CHASSIS - BUTTERFLY VALVE

INITIAL SETUP:

Tools Required

Tool Kit, General Mechanic's, Automotive (GMTK)

Materials Required

Thread locking compound, loctite 243

Lock washers (Qty 5)

Equipment Conditions

Vehicle switched off and battery shutoff switch in the off position

Spare wheel and engine side cover removed, see PLS TM 9-2320-364 series

NOTE

The butterfly valve is located on the bottom of the hydraulic tank.

Remove

(1)

Drain all hydraulic fluid form the hydraulic tank (7).

(2)

Remove the four bolts (2) securing the hydraulic pipe (6) to the butterfly valve (1).

(3)

Remove the o-ring (4).

(4)

Remove the four bolts (3) securing the butterfly valve (1) to the hydraulic tank (7).

NOTE

The four bolts (3) are located inside the butterfly valve casing.

(5)

Remove the butterfly valve (1).

(6)

Remove the o-ring (5).

Install

(1)

Check that the surfaces of the butterfly valve (1), hydraulic pipe (6) and hydraulic tank (7)

are clean and not damaged.

(2)

Apply thread locking compound to the bolts (3) and (2).

(3)

Apply a thin coating of clean hydraulic oil to the o-rings (5 and 4).

(4)

Fit the o-ring (5) to the butterfly valve (1).
