CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCITON
1.1. PURPOSE. This publication is provided as an information service for all organizations involved with Specialized
Repair Activity (SRA) actions on ATC managed equipment. The publication contains general information on the SRA
process and a summary listing of the ATCOM SRA data base.
1.2. SCOPE. The SRA process is governed by AR 750-1 (paragraph 3-13), dated 1 Aug 94. The AR 750-1 contains a
standard SRA request format.
a. The SRA request is submitted directly to the appropriate Major Subordinate Command (MSC) as determined by
the Source of Supply (SOS) code per the Army Master Data File (AMDF).
b. The SRA request may be approved by the MSC. Disapproval authority is retained by HQ DA (DALO-SM).
1.2.1. SRA requests for ATCOM (B17) managed items should be sent to the address below. Requests should be
accompanied by transmittal memo signed by a government official in the maintenance organization not by contractor
maintenance personnel.
Commander, U.S. Army Aviation and
Troop Command ATIN: AMSAT-I-MEP
4300 Goodfellow Blvd
ST. Louis Mo. 63120-1798
1.2.2. Each SRA request is evaluated within ATCOM by the Maintenance Directorate for technical suitability and by the
Materiel Management Directorate for supply supportability. Each request is also reviewed by the HQ Industrial
Operations Command (IOC) for impact on the industrial base.
a. The request will be approved if both ATCOM and the IOC recommend approval. Approval notice will be issued
directly to the requestor by ATCOM.
b. If either command recommends disapproval the recommendation is forwarded to HQ Army Materiel Command
(AMC) for action.
(1) HQ AMC will either endorse the disapproval and forward to HQ DA or reverse the recommendation and issue
approval notice directly to the requestor.
(2) HQ DA will either endorse the disapproval and notify the requestor or reverse the recommendation and issue
approval notice to the requestor.
