(2) Retail Stock. Upon receipt of this Technical Bulletin Commanders and others maintaining re-
tail stock at installation level and below shall contact the supported Aviation Unit to perform the inspection
required by paragraph 8 and the correction procedures of paragraph 9 on discrepant materiel. Disposition
of discrepant materiel will be IAW paragraph 10. Report compliance with this Technical Bulletin IAW para-
2.
Task/lnspection Suspense Date. Within next 10 flight hours/14 days.

cal Bulletin,

Summary of the Problem.
a.  During the inspection of installed retail and stock as required by message UH-60-98-ASAM-05,
Tek precision manufacuted parts (cage Code 65780) were found that had the original part number P/N
70400-08110-054) scratched out and a new part number (70400-08110-061) written in. These parts do not
include any structural change to the link and must be treated just like the -054 Swashplaate Link that was
the subject of UH-60-98-ASAM-03.
b.  The Swashplate Link, P/N 70400-08110-054, manufactured bt TEK (cage code 65780) recently
completed required engineering testing. The results indicate that the part does not conform to and, as such,
must be removed from service NLT 30 June 1999.
c.
For manpower/downtime and funding impacts, see paragraph 12.
d. The purpose of this Technical Bulletin is to direct removal of all Swashplate Links
70400-08110-054/-061) (cage code 65780), IAW paragraph 9.

8.  Inspection Procedures. Verify visually that the Swashplate Link, P/N 70400-08110-054/-061, with
manufactures Cage Code 65780 is installed. Either or both the manufactures Cage Code (65780) and an
engraving or stamp showing "Tek 4" or "Tek 9" will be found in the center of the barrel (shaft) of the Swashplate
Link. If any of these markings are found then the Swashplate Links are defective and must be removed IAW
paragraph 9. If the specified Swashplate Link is not identified, the inspection is complete (Report per para-

10. Supply/Parts and Disposition.
a.  Parts Required. Replacement parts for those cited in paragraph 7 may be required. Order P/N
