17-4. FRONT WINCH TENSIONER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT.

TOOLS: No special tools required

SUPPLIES: Artillery and automotive grease, type GAA, MIL-G-10924

PERSONNEL: One

EQUIPMENT CONDITION: Truck parked, engine off, handbrake set.

Remove winch cable from winch cable drum. Refer to

a . Preliminary Procedure.

Removal.

FRAME 1

Take out four screws and lockwashers (1). Hold winch tensioner

a s s e m b l y (2) to keep it from falling when last screw is taken out.

NOTE

Note number of shims (3) removed from each side so they

will be put back the same way.

L i f t out winch tensioner assembly (2) and shims (3) on each side.
