C h e c k flywheel housing face runout as follows:
M o u n t dial indicator (1) on crankshaft flywheel flange (2).
a.
I n d i c a t o r point (3) must rest on flywheel housing mounting face (4).
b.
S e t indicator dial (5) on zero reading.
c.
T u r n crankshaft 360 pushing toward front of engine.
d.
C h e c k runout. R e a d i n g must not exceed 0.0008 inch total indicator
e.
reading (TIR).
f.
I f reading is more than given limits, get new flywheel housing.
