(1) Wholesale Stock. Upon receipt of this Technical Bulletin all items listed in paragraph 7 located n wholesale
depot storage that were tagged as condition code "J" with a suspended tag/label-material, DD Form 1576/DD Form 1576-
1, as a result of UH-60-98-ASAM-03 or UH-60-98-ASAM-05. Remove the suspend tag/label and reclassify the part to its
original condition.
(2) Retail Stock. Upon receipt of this Technical Bulletin, Commanders and others maintaining retail stock at
installation level and below shall contact the Supported Aviation Unit to perform the inspection required by paragraph 8.
g. Components/Parts in work (Depot Level and Others). N/A.
2. Task/inspection Suspense Date. Within next 10 flight hours/14 days.
3. Reporting Compliance Suspense Date. No later than 24 November 1998 per paragraph 14a of this TB.
4. Summary of the Problem.
a. The Swashplate Link, P/N 70400-08110-054 or 70400-0110-061, manufactured by TEK Precision Corporation
(Cage Code 65780 completed the required engineering testing of this Flight Safety Part in 1997. Initial analysis of the test
results and post test material analysis indicated that the part did not conform to the process specifications of the original
manufactured component. Based on this analysis, the decision was made to remove the parts from stock and service.
ASAMS UH-60-98-ASAM-03 and UH-60-98-ASAM-05 were published. Subsequent analysis by a third party revealed that
the part were actually in conformance with the process specifications and that removing these parts from service and
demilitarizing is not necessary. This Technical Bulletin is to stop any further removal and demilitarization of the paragraph
7 parts. These parts are fully qualified with no limitation on life.
b. For manpower/downtime and funding impacts, see paragraph 12.
c. The purpose of this Technical Bulletin is to stop any further effort under UH-60-98-ASAM-03 and UH-60-98-
ASAM-05 and return the paragraph 7 parts to original condition code and full service as appropriate.

8. Inspection Procedures. Inspect Maintenance Records (DA Forms 2408-5-1 (Swashplate), 2408-13-1, 2408-14). If
any record indicates that a Swashplate Link is to be removed lAW either UH-60-98-ASAM-03 and UH-60-ASAM-05 see
paragraph 9 below. If the records indicate the requirement of UH-60-98-ASAM-03 and UH-60-98-ASAM-05 have been
completed then no additional reporting is required.
