Take out six screws and flat washers (1) from drive end bell (2).

CAUTION

When drive end bell (2) has been taken off, stator

windings will show. Be careful not to nick or cause

other damage to stator windings. Do not rest gen-

erator on windings.

NOTE

Brushes will fall out of brush holders when drive

end bell (2) is taken out. Take out brushes and check

that they are not worn. Refer to para 2- 13d for in-

spection procedures.

2. Pull drive end bell (2) and rotor (3) assembly from housing (4).
