M o u n t dial indicator (1) so indicator pointer (2) rests on teeth of camshaft
1.
gear (3).
2.
Turn gear (3) as far as it will go one way and hold it.
3.
S e t dial indicator (1) to zero.
T u r n gear (3) as far as it will go the other way. Read backlash on dial
4.
i n d i c a t o r ( 1 ) . C a m s h a f t gear backlash must be between 0.003 and 0.009
inch.
