CAUTION
Use only rope sling to lift crankshaft. Cable or chain
s l i n g may damage bearing surfaces of the crankshaft.
B e a r i n g surfaces should not be touched with bare
h a n d s ,  C r a n k s h a f t bearing surfaces should be wrapped
w i t h cheesecloth when handling.
NOTE
Oil all crankshaft bearing surfaces.
1. Put rope sling (1) on crankshaft (2) as shown. Hook rope sling
onto hoist hook (3).
2.
Lift crankshaft (2) over engine block (4).
WARNING
C r a n k s h a f t (2) is very heavy. Do not let fingers or hand
g e t between crankshaft and engine block (4). Do not let
c r a n k s h a f t bump engine block. Failure to use proper
caution may result in damage to equipment and injury to
personnel.
