C h e c k that air compressor (1) has no nicks, burrs or raised metal. Fix small
n i c k s , burrs or raised metal with a fine mill file.
2.
C h e c k that air compressor (1) has no cracks or other damage. If compressor is
c r a c k e d or badly damaged, take off pulley assembly (2), intake air cleaner (3),
a n d d i s c h a r g e m a n i f o l d ( 4 ) .  R e f e r to para 4-49a (1), para 4-49b (1), and
p a r a 4 - 4 9 c ( 1 ) .  T h r o w away compressor and get a new one.
