NOTE
N o special tools are needed to put in cylinder sleeves (l).
I f old cylinder sleeves are used again, they must be put
b a c k in the same cylinder bore (2) they were taken from.

C o a t six cylinder sleeves (1) with engine lubricating oil and put one into each
o f s i x c y l i n d e r b o r e s ( 1 ) . Y - s i z e cylinder sleeves must go in Y-size cylinder
b o r e s . Z - s i z e cylinder sleeves must go in Z-size cylinder bores.
2.
U s i n g block gage, measure and note height of top of each cylinder sleeve
( 1 ) f r o m t o p s u r f a c e o f c r a n k c a s e ( 3 ) . C y l i n d e r sleeve is properly seated
w h e n this height is 0.0005 to 0.005 inch.
I f height is more than 0.005
i n c h , push cylinder sleeve further in.
S u b t r a c t biggest and smallest measurement done on three cylinder sleeves (1)

c l o s e s t t o f r o n t o f c r a n k c a s e ( 3 ) . D i f f e r e n c e should not be more than 0.002
inch. If difference is bigger, push highest cylinder sleeves further down
a n d check heights again.
D o step 3 again for the three cylinder sleeves (1) closest to rear of crankcase
