NOTE
Main bearing caps (1) with bearing halves (2) and main
b e a r i n g saddles (3) are called by numbers one to seven
c o u n t i n g from front to rear of crankcase (4).
N u m b e r seven main bearing cap has a slot (5) on each
s i d e for rubber oil seal.
1.
P u t number seven main bearing cap (1) with bearing half (2) on number
s e v e n main bearing saddle (3). M o u n t i n g holes in number seven main bearing
c a p must line up with screw holes in number seven bearing saddle.
2.
C o a t two bolts (6) and washers (7) lightly with engine lubricating oil. Put
i n and hand tighten two bolts and washers.
3.
Using torque wrench, tighten two bolts (6) to 80 to 90 pound-feet.
U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (6) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.
