NOTE

Main bearing caps with bearing halves (1) and main

b e a r i n g saddles (2) are called by numbers one to seven

c o u n t i n g from front to rear of crankcase (3).

T h e number one main bearing cap (1) has oil pump idler

gear shaft (4).

P u t number one main bearing cap with bearing half (1) on number one bearing

s a d d l e ( 2 ) . O i l pump idler gear shaft (4) should face out.

C o a t two bolts (5) and washers (6) lightly with engine lubricating oil. Put in

a n d hand tighten two bolts and washers.

U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 80 to 90 pound-feet.

U s i n g torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.
