NOTE
Four different crankshafts can be used in these engines.
T h e diameters of main bearing journals and connecting
rod journals are where they are different. The four
c r a n k s h a f t s are early model standard size, late model
standard
size,
0.0100-inch
undersize,
and
0.0200-inch
undersize.
1.
Look at flywheel mounting face (1) of crankshaft (2). If no number is stamped
h e r e , this is a standard size crankshaft. Note this for future use.
2.
L o o k at flywheel mounting face (1) of crankshaft (2). If the number 0.010
or 0.0100 is stamped here, this is a 0.0100-inch undersize crankshaft. Note
t h i s for future use.
3.
L o o k at flywheel mounting face (1) of crankshaft (2). If the number 0.020
or 0.0200 is stamped here, this is a 0.0200-inch undersize crankshaft. Note
t h i s for future use.
