NOTE
R e a d i n g s must be within limits given in table 4-3. The
letter T shows a tight fit. If readings are not within
g i v e n limits, throw away part and get a new one.
1.
U s i n g gage (1) (internal measuring set) and outside micrometer (2),
m e a s u r e crankshaft pilot bearing inside diameter (3).
2.
U s i n g outside micrometer (2), measure crankshaft pilot bearing outside
diameter (4).
3.
U s i n g gage (1) and outside micrometer (2), measure inside diameter of
crankshaft pilot bearing bore (5).
4.
M e a s u r e fit of crankshaft pilot bearing outside diameter (4) in crankshaft
pilot bearing bore (5).
5.
Using heavy hammer and bearing installing tool with a pilot diameter of
0 . 7 5 0 3 inch, put in new crankshaft pilot bearing (3).
