NOTE
Cylinder sleeves (1) are usually thrown away, but
c y l i n d e r sleeves that are almost new may be used
a g a i n . Mark cylinder sleeves to be used again so
that they will be put back in the same position in
t h e same crankcase (2) cylinder bore.

C h e c k if hone pattern can be seen in ring travel area in each of six cylinder
s l e e v e s (1) as shown. If hone pattern can be seen and there is no groove
w o r n at top of ring travel area, mark cylinder sleeve and crankcase (2) with
s c r i b e mark (3) as shown. If hone pattern cannot be seen, or if a groove is
w o r n at top of ring travel area, mark cylinder sleeve to be thrown away.

U s i n g stud remover, take out all crankcase to cylinder head studs (4).
