Replacement.
CAUTION
B e careful not to damage shaft when putting oil
s e a l (1) into bearing cap (2) .
1.
P u t oil seal (1) into bearing cap (2).
2.
A l i n e holes in gasket (3) and front bearing cap (2) with holes in housing case
(4).
Put in four screws (5) and starwashers (6).
3.
NOTE
Follow-on Maintenance Action Required:
Install power takeoff on transmission. Refer

t o para 17-60.
R e p l a c e universal joint yoke. Refer to

T M 9-2320-211-20.
I n s t a l l power takeoff-to-front winch propeller shaft on

p o w e r t a k e o f f . R e f e r to TM 9-2320-211-20.
4.
M a k e sure drain plug is tightened. Refer to
L O 9-2320-211-12.
R e p l a c e oil. R e f e r to LO 9-2320-211-12.
