C h e c k that tailgate control shaft (1) is not bent.
P u t three tailgate control shaft bearings (2) on tailgate control shaft (l).

W h i l e holding tailgate control shaft (1), twist each bearing (2) on control
s h a f t to make sure that there is not too much play in bearing bores (3).
C h e c k play in bores and look for cracks in lever (4) and control arm (5).
