1.
Put strap wrench (1) around generator pulley (2). Pull end of strap tight
around pulley and hold it.
2.
Using torque wrench and 3/4-inch socket, tighten locknut (3) to 40 to 50
pound-feet.
NOTE
Some generators have a hole in generator shaft (4)
for cotter pin (5).
3.
If generator shaft (4) has a cotter pinhole, using pliers, put cotter pin (5)
through hole and bend back ends.
