Cleaning.

NOTE

D o not take out dirt and liquid deflector (1) unless it

i s found to be damaged during inspection.

P r e s s two crankshaft front oil seals (2) out of back of timing gear cover (3).

T h r o w away seals.

WARNING

Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an

o p e n flame. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-

v e n t i s u s e d . U s e only in well-ventilated places. Fail-

u r e to do this may result in injury to personnel and

d a m a g e to equipment.

C l e a n timing gear cover (3) six screws (4), three nuts (5), and nine lock-

w a s h e r s (6) with dry cleaning solvent and stiff brush. Dry with clean cloth.
